While no specific details about the new-gen Mustang have been revealed so far, Farley did confirm that it will continue to be offered with a manual transmission. The MT gearbox will likely be a 6-speed unit, that will be offered alongside a 10-speed automatic transmission – just like the outgoing model.
The Mustang is expected to feature a slightly revamped design, but retain its muscular appeal. The spy shots of the 7th gen Mustang suggest that it will feature a more sculpted design, sharper looking headlights with a new triple LED DRL setup, a redesigned front grille, new tail lamps, and so on.
The top-of -the-line Ford Mustang GT will likely still be offered with the 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine. The current power and torque output of this powertrain is rated at 450 PS and 556 Nm respectively, however, we might even see a bump in those figures. Other variants could make use of a hybrid powertrain, mated to a four-cylinder engine. However, more details are expected to be revealed closer to the seventh-gen Mustang’s debut.
