A man and a woman glued themselves to the opening red carpet. Berlin Film Festival On Thursday, it called on the German government and society to do more to fight climate change.

The two activists glued themselves to the carpet after the film stars arrived at the festival’s opening ceremony, which featured a video address from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the prime minister. She came to meDirected by American director Rebecca Miller.

The Last Generation group, which was behind the protest, said the current government and society have one last chance to stop the path to climate hell with billions of deaths.

“Advocating for sustainability on a small scale, like the Berlinale does, is important, but it won’t save us from ourselves. We need to turn things around now,” Rafael Voelmi, an activist, said in a statement.

Another activist, Lisa Winkleman, said, “If we continue to escape from reality, we will tear up the first climate tipping points and unleash a deadly avalanche from which no one can escape”.

Oh Reuters Eyewitnesses said that the protest did not disrupt the opening ceremony of the fair. The Berlin Film Festival was not immediately available for comment on the incident.
