In April this year, the Kia Seltos was updated to be offered with 4 airbags as standard. Now, the Korean manufacturer has one-upped its own move, with the Seltos SUV now being offered with 6 airbags as standard across the range. Apart from the additional airbags, a range of other safety features are now being offered on all variants of the car.
The Seltos range also gets all wheel disc brakes, Electronic Stability Control, Hill-assist Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Brake Assist, and a highline Tyre Pressure Monitoring System – all of which are now standard across both the Tech Line and GT Line models. This puts the Seltos in line with its sibling Carens – which was being offered with these safety features as standard since day 1.
Other safety features on offer with the car include rear parking sensors (standard), ABS with EBD (standard), front parking sensors, a 360 degree camera, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages. The SUV’s feature list consists of a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected-car tech, an air purifier, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, power-adjustable driver’s seat, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, head-up display, smartwatch connectivity, an electric sunroof, and so on.
As of now, Kia retails the Seltos at a base price of Rs 10.19 lakh, which goes all the way up to Rs 18.45 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom). The SUV faces competition from the likes of Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and MG Astor, while the list of rivals will soon be joined by the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara as well.
