New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address BJP workers and supporters on Thursday as the party looks set to retain power in Tripura on its own and with its senior ally. Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party In Nagaland
Modi will be felicitated for his victory at a meeting of senior party leaders at its headquarters here, official sources said.
According to the Election Commission’s latest data for the 60-member assembly elections, the number of seats the BJP has either won or is leading in Tripura stands at 33.
The number of party and its allies in Nagaland is 36. In Meghalaya, the BJP was leading in three seats and could join hands with it. NPP To be part of the government again like last time.
His victory in Tripura is significant as the Left and the Congress came together against him while the Pardevat Dibarma-led Tipra Motha eroded his support among the tribals. However, BP still retained public support.
