iOS 17 may bring some interesting new features.
Leaks about iOS 17 suggest that the upcoming iPhone OS update is likely to focus on improving existing features rather than adding a lot of new features. One such Reports by 9to5Google believes this year’s theme could be frictionless interaction.
This means users will get more customization tools to enhance their iPhone experience. The lock screen is likely to benefit the most and is expected to get more customization tools such as new fonts, new widgets and even different lock screens with different focus modes. Although unlikely, some leaks have also suggested that it might be possible to share a fully customized lock screen with other users. This could be facilitated by a Marketplace app, though that seems like a remote possibility.
Other additions could be around Dynamic Island, which is rumored to be a feature on all upcoming iPhone 15 devices. This means new UI elements. AppsMore notification banners and more interactive tools. Moreover, live activities and lock screen widgets can be brought to the home screen. We saw the Live Activity feature launch in iOS 16 and now it can be integrated outside of the lock screen as well.
